Summary of Profile

Dr. Charlotte Bose Iro-Idoro MABEN, FIPMD, MWITED, SMIEDRC, MNITAD, FNIOAIM  is a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Office Technology and Management, the First Female Dean  of the School of Communication and Information Technology, the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State and the Coordinator of Women in Technical Education and Employment (WITED), Ilaro Chapter.

Dr. C. B. Iro-Idoro holds National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro (1992 and 1995 respectively), a Post-graduate Diploma in Education (1998), Masters in Personnel Psychology (2002), M.Sc. in Business Administration (OTM Option) (2011) and Ph.D in Personnel Psychology (2014) from Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. Dr. Iro-Idoro holds Coursera Certifications from the following Universities: University of London, Georgia Institute of Technology; University of California, Irvine; Johns Hopkins University; IESE Business School and University of Navarra.

Dr. Charlotte Bose Iro-Idoro joined the service of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro in January, 1996 as a Confidential Secretary.  She was attached to the Director of Works and Services and after few months, she was deployed as the Secretary to the Polytechnic Librarian.  While in the service of the Federal Polytechnic as a Secretary, she was offered admission into the University of Ibadan for her PostGraduate Diploma in Education and completed in 1998. On the completiton of the Postgraduate Diploma in November 1998, she was converted to Higher Instructor in the Department of Secretarial Studies, the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro and was promoted to Senior Instructor in 1999.  Between 1998 and 2000 she bagged a Master’s Degree in Personnel Psychology at the University of Ibadan. In her quest for more knowledge, Dr. Iro-Idoro attended Virtual Institute for Higher Education Pedagogy (NUC) – 2004 and bagged Certificate in Empowering Women for Success in Higher Education (NUC) – April, 2004 and Certificate in Guidance & Counselling in Higher Education (NUC) – February, 2004

 In January 2006, Dr. C. B. Iro-Idoro was converted and promoted to Lecturer II.  In 2006 she was offered admission for her Ph.D in Personnel Psychology in the Department of Educational Foundation and Management, Faculty of Education, Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye. In 2009, she enrolled into the Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State and bagged M.Sc. in Business Administration (OTM Option) in 2011.

In 2009 and 2012 she was promoted to Lecturer I and Senior Lecturer respectively. In May, 2014, she bagged her in Ph.D (Personnel Psychology) at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. In early June, 2014, Dr. Iro-Idoro was appointed as the Head of the Department of Office Technology and Management from June 2014 to June 2018 for her first and second terms.  In January 2015, Dr. Iro-Idoro was promoted to Principal Lecturer and in January 2018 she rose to the peak of her career as a Chief Lecturer in Department of Office Technology and Management, the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. In 2018 she was appointed as the Coordinator of Women in Technical Education and Employment (WITED). In December, 2019 she was elected Dean of the School of Communication and Information Technology, the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State and in January, 2020 she assumed Office as the Dean of the School.  By record, she is the First Female Dean in the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.

Dr. Iro-Idoro has served and still serving in various capacities as Chairman and Member of various Committees within the Polytechnic. Dr. Iro-Idoro is an Adjunct Lecturer in some Universities in Nigeria. She is also serving with Sister Institutions and International/Professional Examination Bodies as a Resource Person and External Examiner.  Dr. Iro-Idoro is a Member and Fellow of many Professional Bodies.

Dr. Iro-Idoro, has written over thirty (35) local and international academic journals and has over forty (40) conference papers presented locally and internationally. She has also attended several Workshops and Seminars of note both locally and internationally. Dr. Iro-Idoro has co-authored series of textbooks.

Dr. Iro-Idoro relates freely with people, she has touched the lives of many among staff and students of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro. She is the initiator of French Language into Office Technology and Management Department.

Dr Iro-Idoro has received several Awards of Excellence and Honour.  She derives joy in contributing to the needs of the physically challenged, aged, widows, orphans, inmates and indigent students. She is a socialite, she has travelled all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria and some oversea countries. Dr. Iro-Idoro is married  and blessed with children and grandchildren.
